Annie recently found her way to Seamless Styling via an online platform and was eager to learn how a wardrobe review could support her postpartum journey. Following the birth of her second child, Annie’s experience was vastly different from her first, leaving her with physical and emotional challenges that deeply affected her confidence. Determined to find a sense of comfort and style in this new phase, she reached out, hoping for guidance on dressing her changing body.
During a phone consultation, we discussed the details of her styling needs and arranged a session that fitted around her baby’s nap times. Annie explained that her body shape had shifted—previously a size 6/8, she now found herself adjusting to an apple shape, with a size 12/14 frame. Unfamiliar with her new shape, she was looking for ways to feel her best and embrace her natural beauty.
Together, we worked through her wardrobe piece by piece, assessing fit and function to identify what styles would best flatter her body. One key focus was minimising bulk around her midsection. For example, styles with front pockets or visible zippers can add unwanted volume, so we opted for side-zipped jeans and trousers to create a streamlined look. Additionally, we incorporated V-neck tops and dresses, which draw attention upwards, helping Annie feel more confident by emphasising her chest rather than her stomach. Angel sleeves proved to be another valuable addition, adding subtle volume to her shoulders and creating a balanced, visually appealing silhouette.
By the end of our session, Annie had a refreshed wardrobe tailored to her shape, as well as a visual guide of styling tips we discussed. This guide included layering techniques for the season that wouldn't add bulk, and a list of potential new items she could consider.
